Enchanted Garden Cushion    24” x 24”  (61 x 61cms.)

Flowers and leaves and colourful creatures are part of this enchanted garden.  The appliqué is simple, using wool felt, fabric, and embroidery thread.  Simple hand embroidery stitches enhance the appliqué.  Several flower designs will be included with the pattern so that each cushion can be one-of-a-kind.   A fun and exciting project.

Waratah Wall QuiltOne of the most handsome Australian native flowers is captured in fabric and thread. Machine or hand appliquéd onto a dark background and framed by a pieced border, this quilt will bloom at Christmas with its traditional red and green colouring or delight at any time of the year.

Sampler SonataBe inspired by how appealing a Sampler Quilt can look and how many techniques can be learned whilst making this quilt. Some techniques include drafting four pieced blocks from simple to more complex, different methods of hand appliqué setting blocks ‘on point’ and adding corners and borders and also adding surface texture with padding and embroidery.

Symbols of Japan – This colourful quilt celebrates the unique beauty of Japanese culture.

The appliqué designs are inspired by MON, a Japanese emblem, badge or crest. MON are highly stylized patterns based on geometric, floral or animal forms. Graphic designers recognize these shapes and forms to be arresting, rhythmic and an unforgettable form of art.

A quiltmaker will enjoy working with these lovely designs whilst exploring the placement of colour and tone to best effect.

Slice Of Flowers - A Colourful one block quilt.

The essence of this quilt is the artful blending of large print scraps with complimentary small prints. The cutting is quick, the hand or machine piecing is simple and the sashing is part of the block. Quilt-as-you-go assembly using a walking foot with feed dogs up means you can machine quilt with ease.

Gather all your scraps (6” squares) and have fun creating this quilt. A comprehensive text giving examples of alternative layouts for this quilt is included in this class.

Sugar and Spice – A circular theme is a feature of this quilt. Starting with a central pieced star, a series of appliquéd and pieced circular borders are added. Many techniques are explored, including hand and machine piecing, foundation piecing, hand and machine appliqué. The skilful use of colour takes this quilt beyond ordinary to extra special.
